Exhibitions & Events
Plain Arts regularly hold creative events and exhibitions throughout the year.
These are held as either ‘Plain Arts Events’ organised and run by our own committee members and dedicated
steering groups, or are creative events held in association with others all within Salisbury & the surrounding area.
Plain Arts Programme For 2020
Dear Art Trailers & Plain Arts Members
On behalf of the Plain Arts committee we must regretfully inform you that in these unprecedented times
we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Art Trail planned for June this year.
We have been reviewing the viability of running the trail in the light of increasing concern and information about Coronavirus and COVID-19 over the last two weeks.
The spread of the virus and the growing threat it poses to all of us cannot go unheeded, particularly when we are planning events where Plain Arts members
are drawn together in public places, risking an increase in the chances of possible transmission.
With the most recent Government announcement advising restrictions on gatherings and reducing potential places of contact, it is our duty and responsibility
to take all precautions and best care of each other and cancel the trail.
We have assessed the possibility of rescheduling for later in the year.
However, there are complex logistical factors involved to be able to do this successfully in the time frame available,
as well as the current ongoing uncertainties.
We ask that you please bear with us whilst we sort refund options for the 2020 trail.
We are taking the situation very seriously, and want to do everything we can to support the well-being of our members and the general public.
We will be in touch again very soon and wish everyone healthy times ahead.
Stay safe and healthy.
With all best wishes,
Judith Rodgers, Chair, Plain Arts
On behalf of the Committee
If you’re concerned that you may be infected with the virus there is a 111 Online Coronavirus Service which will help you determine whether you need to seek further help.

Visitor numbers during the weekend have been extremely low, withonly 8 yesterday and0 today.
We will review the situation on a weekly basis and our aimwill beto re-open as soon as it is appropriate to do so.
Please will you let your members and stewards know
Trying to help ensure the health and welfare of our visitors, staff, volunteer stewards and those members ofPlain Arts who areso willingly prepared to giveup their time to help steward the exhibition, is obviously of paramount importance. I can only offer my apologies to allthose who put so much time and hard work into the wonderfulworkthat is on display andhope that they willunderstand theverydifficult(and unusual)situation we arecurrently in"
The exhibition will remain in place until this situation resolves itself and we will keep you informed if we hear from Arundells about any change in their plans.
Thank you all for your support and input into making what is undoubtedly a superb exhibition of local art.
Plain Arts will keep you updated with any further information as and when it is available - so please bear with us while this is happens.
Rolling programme of exhibiting opportunities at the Salisbury Medical Centre throught the year
The next group of Plain Arts members set up their work on Monday 8th July.
The exhibition will run through until the end of October.
We have now been organising a rolling programme of exhibitions since the centre opened on the Wilton Road.
The Practice has conducted a number of surveys and they have found how valued and
appreciated this project is to both the staff and patients. It's free to exhibit and the wall spaces are excellent
for showing your work to a very large audience.
Exhibiting opportunities at Waterstones Bookshop throughout the year
Plain Arts is continuing working with Waterstones to provide artists who might want to take the opportunity
to exhibit in their store. It costs just £20 which you pay directly to the Manager at Waterstones.
The following dates are currently available:
6th October - 3rd November (Back Stairs) / January 12th - February 9th (Back Stairs)
Exhibiting opportunities at 5 Rivers leisure centre throughout the year
Exhibiting opportunities at Boston Tea Party throughout the year
Exhibiting opportunity at Three Chequers Surgery
We were able to supply a Plain Arts member for the original request from the surgery.
A new opportunity has just arisen and they are looking for someone to exhib their work.
Its a very busy surgery in Endless Street and a great opportunity to get your work out there.
