Lucinda Nicholas
Lucinda was born in St Albans, Hertfordshire before moving to Salisbury when she was 7 years of age. She lives in Redlynch with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
Lucinda qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1991 and has followed her love of painting alongside this profession.
Lucinda loves painting in watercolours as they can be fluid and also very precise. Other mediums used by Lucinda include pen and ink and acrylic that gives her the opportunity to be brighter and bolder.
Lucinda’s artistic influences come from whatever she sees around her. She lives in a beautiful part of the world where The New Forest, Salisbury Cathedral and the surrounding landscapes offer a constant source of inspiration. She has walked on the Great Wall of China and Hadrian’s Wall for charity so her Walking Boots and other shoes have also been subjects for her to paint.
Lucinda is in the most part self taught, although has studied under Elizabeth Hemming, Nikki Sheppard, Sue Taylor and Teresa Rogers, four wonderful local artists.
Lucinda’s work is displayed in homes in Singapore and New Zealand as well as in local collections. She has hosted The Hampshire Open Studios exhibition in her home and Studio during August for the past few years, inviting other local artists to exhibit too. Lucinda is happy to take Commissions.
Lucinda’s Art Studio is open for visits by appointment. It is from here that she runs her Art classes.
