Ken Taylor
I became a student of portrait drawing and painting after a career as an engineer.
Following retirement in 2006, I volunteered with Citizens Advice and on the board of a community development project, and joined a portrait drawing class. Eventually my interest in portrait developed into several weeks per annum full-time tuition at the fine art atelier Sarum Studio from 2014.  ​​​Today I continue study, and share in the trials and joys of people of all ages, from beginners to experienced artists at this magnificent atelier in the Cathedral Close Salisbury.  Workshops and one-to-one coaching with other artists also has been very influential.
Recently venturing into still life and landscape at the studio and with other tutors, I find that skills and techniques of portrait give a familiar and pleasing start.
I welcome enquiries for commissions. Portrait commissions can be undertaken by sittings or a combination of sitting and photographs. The first step is to contact me for a discussion of your wishes.
