My favourite medium is watercolour however I also use acrylics, pastels and most recently watercolour and collage.  I like watercolour because of its subtlety for my landscapes.  I have a real love of painting outdoors in all seasons and many of my small landscape paintings are produced outside, directly on site.  I enjoy painting in and around Salisbury.  For my bird paintings I make many sketches from life and combine these with photos to create paintings.  I paint birds in watercolour but I also enjoy using acrylics and pastels because of the strength of colour and immediacy it lends to the subject.
